July 29th, 2008--- Today our sanctuary received a very generous donation of Totally Ferret Food & treats from Performance Foods.  We would like to thank these kind people for helping to make our job a little easier. We have used Totally Ferret in our mix for years, and the ferrets love it. Thank you, Performance Foods!!!

We would like to thank the Petco Foundation abundantly, for the two HUGE pallets of food, cages, and miscellaneous items they donated to us today! WOW!!! I am stunned. $3859.63 worth of goodies for our fuzzies! They`re out there right now crunching on some of the kibble. It seems like help always comes when you need it the most. Thank you, Petco Foundation. We are so grateful!

We would like to thank Sandi Browning for her extremely generous donation to our sanctuary. Ten fuzzbutts got lupron shots, and are experiencing great relief from adrenal symptoms due to her kindness.  Sandi, I hope you know what a Godsend you are! God bless you, Lady!!!
Love, Zoo

We would like to thank the DeKalb Petco for putting us on their Tree of Hope, during the 2007 Christmas season. We received a generous check from Petco after the holidays, and I can`t tell you how grateful we are!
Some of the Petco staff have been here to see our sanctuary, and they realize how hard we work to give a wonderful life to the ferrets that nobody wanted. We are the only facility in 79 miles devoted exclusively to ferrets. Expenses are great. Out of state donations were down a bit because the ferret community was focused on a large scale rescue last year. The local support has really kept us going! Thank you, Petco!!!

We would like to thank SlippyPad.com for the box of disposable litter boxes & utility pads they sent us!  We have so many older and ill ferties who have a difficult time making it to the box. These should make life much easier for them (and us!)  Thank you, SlippyPad.com!!

We would like to thank Support Our Shelters for the case of Carnivore Care they donated to our sanctuary in December of 2007. We have so many oldsters, ferrets on meds, & hospice babies who can only eat soup. This was a wonderful Christmas gift. It will help them so much!! Thank you, SOS!!

As we approach the end of yet another year, we would once again like to thank Path Valley Farm. We have used Path Valley food in our mix for years. We realize there are bigger, more publicized rescues out there. We don`t ask often, but Path Valley has never turned us down when we asked for support. Thank you, Path Valley, for the Christmas food donation and for helping us once again. You are good people.

We would like to thank Ferretdepot.com for the Christmas food donation they made to our sanctuary. Ferret Depot has been good to us for years--and we are so grateful for their continued support. Thank you, Ferret Depot!

We would like to thank Zupreem for their generous donation of food for the fuzzies here. Zupreem is one of their favorite foods & this will be put to very good use! Thank you so much, Zupreem!

We are so grateful to Sun & Earth, Inc. for the generous care package they sent our sanctuary! The all purpose spray is especially great--and so is the laundry soap! We will be ordering from Sun & Earth in quantity from now on. The products are non toxic & biodegradeable, safe for our cherished furkids, and Earth-friendly!! Thank you, Sun & Earth!

We would like to thank Marta Osinski for the beautiful job she did redesigning and rebuilding our website. This was a gift of love dedicated to her fiance Tony who died on October 19th, 2007.  In spite of so many shattered dreams, she is continuing to care for Tony`s ferret Allie and has reached out to touch so many ferrets in a town she had never even heard of until now. Thank you so much Marta, Tony would be proud of you....

We would like to thank Margie Kamm of Memorykatcher Photography for the outstanding work she did in July and August for our upcoming article in Ferrets Magazine, also for the photos we submitted to the calendar contest. (Margie, you have the patience of a saint!) We will be posting many of Margie`s pictures on this new site as we update!

We would like to thank L`Avian for their donation of premium ferret food for the fuzzies here. The pieces are easy for the oldsters to chew. Even some of the fussy ones were eating it, so we plan to add it to their mix! Thank you, L`Avian!

We would like to thank Ulti Med Incorporated for the insulin syringes in the dispense & disposal container. These syringes are perfect for the tiniest injections--and the built in sharps container is a plus!!! Thank you, Ulti Med!

We would like to thank everyone at Crafty Weasels of Georgia for the box of bedding they sent to give comfort to our fuzzies in March of 2007. Some of these women travel over 2 1/2 hours one way to come to their sew day! Fuzzies everywhere are more comfortable due to the efforts of these women! Thank you so much Florence Love & the Crafty Weasels of Georgia! The ferrets will enjoy these things very much.

We want to thank Dr. Katie of Dogwood Pet Hospital in Love`s Park for the wonderful care and generous discount she gives our Sanctuary. We were sad to see Dr. Durst move to Southern Illinois--but it was bittersweet. She is furthering her education even more so that she will be even BETTER at what she is already---a great vet! We are so glad she recommended her collegue Dr. Katie to us. Dr. Katie has already seen several of our ferrets since May of 2007. She has done several surgeries for us too---all with great results! Thank you, Dr. Katie!"

We are so very thankful to Support Our Shelters for the gift of lupron on September 23rd, 2006!!! This generous donation will cover 15 of our 19 adrenal babies for approximately 6 months. I can`t begin to tell you how much relief this will provide to these older furkids. Thank you so much. May God bless you!

I would like to post a public note of gratitude to my husband Kurt, who built both the original ferret room and the new, second ferret playroom here at Zoo`s Ferret Sanctuary! Thank you to the man who never says a word when a sick baby comes through our doors and who never complains about the charge bills when we have to see a vet. A thank you to the man who faithfully carries in 40# bags of litter and carries out heavy bags to the garbage cans at 4 a.m before work. To the husband, who at the end of the day, is still here.... Thank you, Kurt, for all the cages you have assembled, all the graves you have dug--and all the times you have held me when I cried. Kurt, your hard work never goes un-noticed--and I`m here to tell you, my lover, my partner, and my friend, how grateful I am. Together, we have beaten the odds. The playroom is beautiful.

Thank you Carole, Sam, and Troy for donating the bi-fold doors for the ferret laundry area, and the underlayment for the playroom floor!

We would like to thank our good friends Kris B. (Nebraska) and Diane I. (Wisconsin) for all the fundraising they did to help buy the materials for our brand new ferret playroom! The $$$ they raised paid for most of the lumber, plumbing, electrical, heat/cooling, and carpentry supplies. Ladies, you helped a ferret dream come true much more quickly than it otherwise would have. You are angels! Now more babies can get out at a time to run and play. May you be richly blessed!!!

We would like to thank Dr. Sandra Durst of Hillcrest Animal Hospital in Rockford, Illinois for her extreme generosity to Zoo`s Ferret Sanctuary. Dr. Durst, thank you for your caring support and helping us continue to provide the best possible medical attention for our little ones.

We would like to thank Art and Judy Braid for the $5000 donation they made in July of 2005 in memory of their daughter Sondra. This gift of love bought lupron for all of our adrenal babies for all of 2005! It also bought a sewing machine so we could mend their bedding and sew hammies, cuddle cups, and sleepy sacks to sell at the ferret show. (This raised money for the Sanctuary.) Last, but not least, it paid the charge bill for the brand new commercial dryer for the enclosure in their new playroom. Sondra will always be with us in spirit--and taking care of the ferrets has been made much easier due to the generosity of the Braids. Thank you, Art and Judy for these lasting gifts. May God bless you both!!!

We would like to thank Oxbow Pet Products for the generous donation of a case of Carnivore Care in June of 2005 and another one two months later! We are using this new product on our sick ones and will be providing feedback to the company as to how they do on it. Thank you, Oxbow!
