Hazel
In October of 2007 we got a call from the manager at Petco.
There was an elderly, balding girl who had been returned four or five times to the store because she was "sick". She kept "losing her fur". The store manager said the last owner recognized the balding as adrenal disease, but she couldn`t afford a $700.00 + surgery, so she had returned Hazel to be adopted out (yet again!) to someone else....
Not only is Hazel adrenal, she is not strong enough to withstand any surgery. She got a lupron shot the night she came.
Hazel also got the promise we give to each one of our babies. This is her home. No one will ever hurt her or abandon her again. We will spend the rest of her life trying to make it up to her for what the other humans in her life have done to her. Each day will be filled with as much comfort and joy as possible--for as long as she has....
