Sweetpea Two
Blind---and abandoned at a campsite...
On September 22nd, 2006 we got another call.
A blind little girl had been abandoned at a campsite near Belvidere. The woman who had the ferret wanted to find a home for "Sweetpea" and called the vet who suggested us.
The next day on September 23rd, 2006, Sweetpea joined our family.
Sweetpea is not a "she"--- she is a "HE"---and he is a nice champagne boy, about five years old. He`s in quarantine for a couple weeks. He tires easily. We`re not sure if his wirey coat is due to poor nutrition or adrenal disease. We will have to watch him.
Because we have had a "Sweetpea" before, this Sweetpea`s middle name will be "Two".
Later.

UPDATE: June 22nd, 2008
Sweetpea is on his third round of Lupron & is doing well. He has maintained the beautiful coat he grew, after starting on the drug. He likes playing outside the cage, and his energy level is good, but he does tire more quickly than some of the others.
One might never guess he is blind.
All in all, he does quite well, for an oldster.
More later!
